The gist of this plugin idea is that by default, if you have Private or Protected posts in WordPress, they do not show up in the Activity widget in the WordPress Dashboard.
By default, WordPress hides these posts types from the Activity widget (even though the current user
has access could have access to see the posts).
Maybe these settings could be part of a larger WordPress admin settings suite for the available options that come with WordPress installs (ie: Include Dummy Content, Set RSS widget cache timeout…) a UI for modifications on the core utility of what WordPress’s core widgets and utilities do.
A great use case for this is if you wanted to use Private posts to communicate with other contributors to your site, and you could have that show up in the WordPress Dashboard for these users. Could be a good internal communications mechanism for WordPress out of the box… but as of right now…
